Tyning’s Barrows Swallet
Duration – 3 – 4 hours.
Location – Meet at Upper Pitts at 10:00.
Tyning’s Barrows Swallet is an archetypal Mendip cave. Commencing with a series of ladders, followed by some crawling and then a nice streamway. The aim of the trip will be get to the end of the cave (“A-Day”), with the option to do the Paton Place / White Dog Passage / Dragon Chamber round trip on the way out, if time permits.
No special equipment is required, although a belay belt is recommended for the ladder pitches.
A goodwill fee of £2 is payable to the landowner.
