DESCRIPTION:Duration – 3 – 5 hours. \nLocation – Meet at Upper Pitts at 10:00. \nThrupe Lane Swallet is a large system on Eastern Mendip with extensive vertical development.\nThe aim of the trip will be to enter the cave via the normal entrance (for those happy with SRT) and via Hobnail Hole (for those that don’t wish to use SRT).\nWe will then proceed down the Marble Streamway to the awe-inspiring view out over Atlas pot.\nAn SRT route will be rigged to allow a descent to the floor of the pot. \nSRT kit is required if entering the cave via the Thrupe Lane entrance and / or descending to the floor of Atlas.

DESCRIPTION:SRT Practice.\nDuration – 3 – 4 hours.\nLocation – Meet at Upper Pitts at 10:00.\nThere is a party size limit of 6 persons so if more people attend we will split into suitable size groups.\nThe plan is to rig both the left and right hand routes in Rhino Rift. This will allow people to brush up on their SRT skills before the summer trip to the Felix Trombe.\nFor those that have not been to Rhino before\, it offers a series of 3 medium length pitches (20 to 30m) that include a variety of obstacles (re-belays and deviations) descending down a single large rift.\nThe left hand route is somewhat easier than the right hand one.\nA full SRT kit is required.\nYou will need a CCC permit. This is free and can be arranged on-line on the day\, if necessary.

DESCRIPTION:If you are planning to come out to the Felix Trombe this summer then why not join us at the Yorkshire Subterranean Society (YSS) for a SRT training / practice weekend? \nThis will be an ideal opportunity to brush up on your SRT skills and also meet some of the other Wessex members who will be going on the trip. \nWe will be staying at The Old School House in Helwith Bridge (BD24 0EH). It is booked for the Friday\, Saturday and Sunday nights and will cost £5 per person per night. \nYou will need to bring your own breakfast. We will probably have evening meals at the local pub (next door) or out in Settle. \nWeekend activities may include options for:-\n• Indoor SRT training\n• Sell Gill exchange trip\n• Jingling exchange trip\n• Shuttleworth Pot\n• Walking the 3-peaks (or maybe only 1 or 2 of them)\nOther caving trips can be arranged\, just let me know what you fancy doing. \nPlease email me (wayne@cuckoocleeves.uk) to confirm if you want to come as there is a limited amount of bed space. \nFlyer can be found HERE
