DESCRIPTION:If you are planning to come out to the Berger this summer then why not join us in Yorkshire for a final training weekend? \nThis will be an ideal opportunity to brush up on your SRT skills and also meet some of the other members who will be going out to the Berger. \nWe will be staying at the “The Dump”\, the Bradford Pothole Club’s hut in Brackenbottom\, just outside of Horton-in-Ribblesdale (BD24 0EU). It is booked for the Friday and Saturday nights. You’ll need to bring food for breakfast but we’ll book a table at the Indian in Settle for Saturday night. DESCRIPTION:Craig-a-Ffynnon. \nDuration – 3 – 4 hours (plus travel time). \nLocation – Meet at Upper Pitts at 09:00. \nThis will be a trip to Craig-a-Ffynnon in South Wales. \nThe aim will be to get to the Hall of the Mountain King and possibly onward to Helictite passage (time permitting). The cave does start off a little wet but is dry after the entrance series is negotiated. The cave consists mostly of large chambers and big-bore passages separated by boulder chokes. It is very pretty in parts. \nNo special equipment is required\, although a belay belt is recommended for the second boulder choke climb. If travelling beyond the Hall of the Mountain King then good knee pads are also recommended. \nIt takes about an hour and half to get to the cave by car and we will arrange car sharing on the morning. \nPlease be at Upper Pitts promptly at 9:00.

DESCRIPTION:Swildon’s – Northwest Stream Passage. \nDuration – 4 – 5 hours. \nLocation – Meet at Upper Pitts at 10:00. \nThis trip is to the infrequently visited Northwest Stream Passage in Swildon’s. \nIt is a moderately sporting trip involving passing through Sump 1\, climbing the Landing and then tackling a few squeezes and ducks. \nThe aim would be to have a good look at Heaven and Hell passage. If time permits then we can also check out the Upstream Duck and Dip Tubes. \nNo special equipment is required\, although a belay belt is recommended for the ladder pitches and warm kit is recommended as it is a very wet trip. \nA goodwill fee is payable to the landowner (£1 per person).
